Valent Time's Day

First of all, there is absolutely no typo error in the title above.

I wish to review Sofra Restaurant located at Beach Road Shaw Towers for giving me a hell of time wasted just waiting for the main course.

First of all, mispelling of my name on the reservation. Is my handwriting that awful?? I know it isn't. Bloody hell.

The setting was romantic, no doubt, with all the rose petals on the table. Don't mind my camera's flash; the lighting was dim, nice ambience no doubt.

Initial prompt service was given. My lentin soup, along with his cream of mushroom soup (one wonders why some people choose to stick to a Campbell soup taste when we're obviously dining in such style).

The heart-shaped bread that came with our soups, cliche I know. But cute nonetheless.

His lamb and beef kofte came a good 50 minutes after we actually asked the waiter to clear our soup and serve us the main course.

And then, came my burnt fried dory fish with cream sauce. Obviously, I couldn't finish it; not only the serving was huge, it came too late for my stomach, and yes, with that burnt taste to add.

Dessert called rowani (or revani) was then served 20-25 minutes later. By now, you can say it was already 9.15pm (and our reservation technically started from 7.45pm) so you could try to imagine our frustrations then.

Oh yes, while we had requested for our tea to come together with dessert, coming at a much anticipated period of 15 minutes after dessert came, the Turkish tea was probably really brewed from the country itself. No pictures by now.

I am only thankful that DH saved the whole day, by not turning up in some bouquet of overpriced roses.

Last, but not least, as a form of my random thoughts and personal encounter of February 14 2008...

I would never see road barriers in the same light again.
